Actually fishing is pretty good. As of now all non essential business is closed in Cabo until May 30. You can fish as a private boat but no charters. Restaurants and hotels are closed until May 30. Weather is getting warm 80+ degrees every day. Marlin fishing is getting good.
It’s been an exciting month of February! We kicked off the month with a trip to Puerto Vallarta fishing mainly tuna, bringing in some 20-50 pounders. Then back to the shores of Cabo! Anglers have been catching everything from stripe marlin to dorado to rooster fish and have been seeing whales as well. Thank you to everyone we have hosted. It’s been truly a pleasure to have you each on board! Until next time “Beware Of The Chupacabra”!
It’s been a great start to 2020! The weather has been perfect and there have been whales everywhere to add to the experience!
We have had groups on board catch and releasing multiple stripe marlin and having fresh dorado for dinner. The water’s around Cabo are ripe and the fishing is great!

Having families on board, creating life long memories has been such a pleasure. It’s never too early to start a passion for fishing. Over the years, we have hosted families of all ages and sizes. The excitement that is shared as a youngster pulls in their first big fish is an experience they will never forget.
The enthusiasm of a child is contagious. It never matters how big or small the catch is because it is about the quality time that is spent together in the outdoors. Fishing is not only a sport but a kind of bond or a way of interacting with the world around us. It’s about respecting the waters and the animals that live beneath the surface of the sea. We love sharing this way of life with those that are interested in experiencing it.
We are a family friendly boat and love hosting guests of all ages. For us, it’s more than fishing (even though the fishing is great) it’s about the life long memories we can help our guests create.

The Quinn family from Dallas fished with us today. 3-4 on Stripe Marlín including a juvenile Stripe.
It’s been a fantastic end to 2018. With charters scheduled consistently, Team Chupacabra has been out on the water.
Jason Ness group today. Caught a dozer sailfish today. His son 14-month-old Nolan made the picture as well. Future angler
Fat Stripey we caught for the Clint Doty group last week.
10-year-old Garrett Flynn catches a Stripe Marlin with us today. Keen young angler. Even down there rigging ballyhoo with the Crew. Later that day Garrett Flynn caught a nice 20-25 pound Dorado and insisted to clean it himself.
His father Tim Flynn needed a Blue Marlin for all of his Pacific Billfish species and we caught him one today about 300 pounds on 30-pound test.
Big thanks to everyone that has been on board with us. Our guests are the best!

The fishing in Cabo has been incredible over the last few weeks. With the Los Cabos Billfish Tournament, The Bisbee Black and Blue Marlin Tournament, The Pelagic Rockstar Tuna Tournament and The Los Gringos Tuna Jackpot all being held in Los Cabos the sportfishing atmosphere has been nothing less then amazing.
We would like to congratulate all of the tournament winners from this years season. It was a tight competition, some big payouts and a lot of fun mixed with some luck.
Sportfishing in Cabo is an unforgettable experience and we are thankful it’s where we get to call home most of the year. The fish have been biting and we have had a few day charters in the mix of it all. There have been days of sunshine and reeling in some big fish. It was a pleasure having each of you on board with us this season and we look forward to having you back again.

Capitan Clay Hensley of Chupacabra and Dr. Blake Stamper, angler and owner of Chupacabra had a big win last week at the Los Cabos Billfish Tournament in Cabo San Lucas.
After an exciting battle with a big blue marlin on the end of Dr. Stamper’s line, Team Chupacabra weighed in at 499 lbs. This landed them 2nd place overall points including releases, the biggest marlin overall and the day 3 daily jackpot. This also awarded them the largest cheque of the tournament.
With the Bisbee’s Black And Blue Marlin Tournament starting this week, the win was a perfect warm-up for what is to come. Needless to say, the fishing has been great in Los Cabos already this fall.

An Annual Charity Convention Hosted by the Hilton Los Cabos
June 22-25, 2017 • Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Named after the children it helps — the real stars of the tournament — and the striped marlin in the Sea of Cortez, Stars & Stripes began in 1997 as a fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County. Dick Gebhard wanted to create a fundraiser unlike any other and combine fishing, golfing and music. Since then, the tournament has grown to include seven children’s charities based in Southern California and Mexico.
The Stars & Stripes beneficiaries receive much-needed financial assistance which they can use to expand their programs. Team registration fees pay for all costs of the event. When you make a donation to Stars & Stripes, proceeds are used to match dollars raised by the beneficiary charities, allowing the money they raise to increase and create more impact.
The Stars & Stripes Tournament is now an established golf tournament, fishing tournament and music festival. This world-class charity fundraiser, held yearly in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, combines spectacular deep sea fishing and golfing on Mexico’s finest courses with beautiful accommodations and top-notch musical entertainment. The hugely popular event has raised and donated more than $23 million to worthy youth charities over the course of its 20-year history. More than just a fundraiser, Stars & Stripes creates lasting memories for the organizations it assists, as well as those participating in the event each year.
